What You Will Do
As a Compliance Specialist in the Compliance Testing Team, you will be integral to ensuring that operational controls meet both internal standards and regulatory compliance across financial crime, regulatory compliance, and privacy. You will conduct structured, independent compliance testing, provide actionable recommendations, and monitor follow-up plans for improvement. You will:
- Plan and Execute Testing: Perform structured testing aligned with compliance strategies. Evaluate control frameworks, identify improvements, and ensure adherence to governing policies.
- Analyze and Report: Assess risks within Klarna’s products, services, and processes. Deliver high-quality reports that clearly communicate risks and recommendations.
- Findings Management: Manage and monitor the resolution of compliance observations, ensuring timely and robust follow-up actions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with compliance and operational teams, serving as a key contact during testing and recommending corrective actions.
- Data Analysis: Utilize analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support the development of testing methodologies to strengthen compliance efforts.
Who You Are
- At least 3 years of experience in financial crime, regulatory compliance, or privacy within financial services, fintech, or payments processing.
- Background in risk management, internal audit, or control testing, ideally within the financial sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex issues and propose practical solutions.
- Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments with internal teams and stakeholders.

- Experience in developing testing frameworks with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Understanding of 2nd Line of Defense activities, including risk identification and mitigation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptable in cross-functional collaboration.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to grow within the compliance field.

At Klarna, our compensation package includes a base salary and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). To ensure fairness and maintain global market competitiveness, each role in a specific location has a set base salary. During the recruitment process, we will assess your skills and experience to determine which role is the best fit for you.
Our RSU program features a 4-year vesting schedule, allowing you to gradually become a shareholder in Klarna. Additionally, you may qualify for our Contribution-Based Reward (CBR) program, which recognizes and rewards significant contributions to our success.
